prof. Kobi Peleg, Ph.D., MPH

Professor Peleg is the Head of the Emergency and Crisis Management Program at Tel Aviv University Higher Vocational School. He is the founder of the Israel National Center for Research in Trauma and Emergency Medicine at the Gertner Institute, where he also served as director for twenty years. He co-founded and served as professor at the Department of Disaster and Crisis Management and the Master's Program in Emergency and Disaster Management at the Tel Aviv University School of Public Health. He has both academic and hands-on experience.

In 2017-2019, Professor Peleg served as the Chairman of the Board of the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM). He is an advisor to UNDAC (United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination System) and served as a member of UNDAC during the earthquake relief efforts in Indonesia (2009) and Nepal (2015).

He is an advisor to the World Health Organization and a mentor to field hospitals in Italy, the United Kingdom and Romania. He has conducted medical emergency management training courses all around the world and has served as a consultant for emergency and disaster preparedness for ministries, private companies and organizations. 

Professor Peleg is the owner and CEO of P.K. Hagdor Ltd., a company active in an emergency preparedness and response consultancy in Israel and other countries.  In this capacity, he serves as a strategic and scientific advisor to the Israeli National Emergency Management Authority NEMA, the Israeli Minister of Health, the World Health Organization's Emergency Medicine Initiative, and other private and government organizations.

Professor Peleg lectures in disaster and mass casualty management, disaster medicine and optimization models of emergency medical services and other related topics at Tel Aviv University. He is also a visiting professor at five universities in Italy, the USA, Belgium, the Czech Republic, China and the Harvard University in the USA. He has published over 200 world-renowned articles, co-authored two books and he is an author of chapters in many others. He served as the Senior Deputy Minister of Health and the member of the Executive Committee of the Israeli Magen-David-Adom Emergency Medical Service.

prof. Carmen M. Terzic, M.D., Ph.D.

prof. Carmen M. Terzic, M.D., Ph.D. Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

A physician and athlete originally from Venezuela, the professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation, since 1992 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA. 

She received her medical degree from Universidad Centro Occidental Lisandro Alvarado in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, and her Ph.D. from Mayo Graduate School, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.

From 2011 to 2020 she was the Director of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is the co-director of the Rehabilitation Medicine Research Center and the deputy director of the Mayo Clinic Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Program.

She has presented the results of her research in more than 90 papers that have been published in the leading journals such as Science, Nature Cell Biology, Translational Medicine, as well as in the specialized journals including AJPMR, Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Prevention, Circulation, Circulation Research, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, etc.

Prof. Terzic is active in a number of national and international professional societies and is recognized worldwide for its groundbreaking research and clinical recommendations in the field of cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation.

Carmen M. Terzic was also a competitive fencer and a member of the Venezuelan national fencing team from 1978-1992. In 2012, she entered the Sports Hall of Fame in Venezuela.

prof. PaedDr. Pavel Kolář, Ph.D.

prof. PaedDr. Pavel Kolář, Ph.D. Head of the Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and Motol University Hospital

The Czech physiotherapist, one of the most respected physiotherapists in the world. He focuses mainly on the movement pathology of children.

Since 1999 he has been the Head of the Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine at Second Medical Faculty of Charles University and Motol University Hospital.

He is currently the Vice Dean for Development at the Second Medical Faculty of Charles University. He teaches at Czech and foreign universities. In 2009 he was named Teacher of the Year at Second Medical Faculty of Charles University.

His work includes the publication of more than 140 professional articles in Czech and foreign journals, he is also a co-author of many other professional publications.

Prof. Kolář is the founder of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, director of the Pavel Kolář Centre for Movement Medicine.

He is a member of many scientific societies (e.g. Society for Myoskeletal Medicine, Czech Society of Sports Medicine, Union of Physiotherapists of the Czech Republic, Society for Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine, Czech Kinesiological Society), he is also a member of the background support for the Czech national team in many sports, including hockey, football, athletics and tennis. He is the Chairman of the Medical Committee of the Czech Olympic Committee.

Since 2013 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of SR Paraple.

In 2003, prof. Kolář was awarded the President of the Republic Václav Havel's Medal of Merit for the State for his pedagogical and scientific activities; in 2007 he received the Medal for Merit for the State in the Field of Education and Science from the President of the Republic. 

MUDr. Arkadiusz Bielecki, Ph.D.

MUDr. Arkadiusz Bielecki, Ph.D. Polish orthopaedic surgeon with 40 years of experience

The Polish orthopaedic surgeon with 40 years of experience, specialising mainly in knee arthroscopy and knee and hip endoprostheses. Since 2008, he has been the CEO of the Holy Family Hospital in Rudno Małe.

For a number of years, he worked at the orthopaedic and traumatology department of the Provincial Hospital in Rzeszów, which he built.

He studied at medical faculties in Warsaw and Krakow, graduated from orthopaedic academies in the USA.

Dr. Bielecki's professional achievements include the first arthroscopic surgery in Subcarpathia, co-organization of scientific conferences in the field of orthopaedics and traumatology and interdisciplinary conferences on multi-organ injuries. He has worked on a number of clinical trials.

He is a university teacher, co-author of the first Manual for Orthopaedic Surgeons.

He is a member of the Polish Arthroscopic Society, Polish Orthopaedic and Traumatological Society.

In 2016 he received the award of the Polish Orthopaedic and Traumatological Society for outstanding scientific, didactic and surgical achievements.

Dr. Bielecki's great passion is motorsport and car veterans.
